On 1 April 1946, in the challenging years following the Second World War, Bill Search took the bold step of starting a new business from a tiny attic office in East Parade, Leeds. It may not have seemed like the ideal time to launch a company, but it proved to be the beginning of a story built on service, trust and long-term relationships.

Eighty years later, Search has grown and evolved significantly but the principles that shaped the business remain the same. We still believe in understanding our customers’ needs, delivering dependable solutions, and providing a friendly, flexible and professional service at every stage.

Today, Search is proud to be an employee-owned business. Our Employee Ownership Trust reflects the values that have always been at the heart of the company: shared responsibility, long-term commitment and a genuine focus on doing the right thing for our customers, our colleagues and the communities we support.

Our hire and events business provides practical, reliable solutions for customers across the North of England and the Midlands. From portable toilets and welfare units to cabins and site equipment, we support construction sites, public events, private functions, festivals, concerts and major sporting occasions with equipment people can rely on.

Whether we are supplying facilities for a large outdoor event or providing essential hire equipment for a busy site, our approach remains the same. We work closely with every customer to understand what is needed, respond quickly, and deliver solutions that are safe, suitable and well supported.
